How to reset your Chromebook
- If it is not already on, turn on your Chromebook using the power button on the top right corner of your keyboard.
- Press the "Esc + Refresh + Power" buttons simultaneously.
- The Chromebook will reboot and you will see either a screen saying "Please insert a recovery USB stick or SD card." or a screen saying "Let's step you through the recovery process". You do not need to do anything regarding these messages.
- Press "Ctrl + D". Then one of two things will happen:
- You will see a screen saying "To Turn OS Verification OFF, press ENTER."
- Press "Enter" to turn OS verification off. The screen should then look like the following:
- On the "OS Verification is OFF" screen, re-enable OS verification by pressing "Enter" again to turn it back on. The screen should then look like the following:
- Press "Enter" to turn OS verification off. The screen should then look like the following:
- You will see a screen saying "You are attempting to enable developer mode".
- Press "Enter" to select the "Confirm" button.
- When you see the prompt saying "Booting in developer mode is not allowed", press "Enter" again to select the "Back" button.
- You will then see a screen saying "Confirm returning to secure mode". Press "Enter" to select the "Confirm" button.
- Press "Enter" to select the "Confirm" button.
- You will see a screen saying "To Turn OS Verification OFF, press ENTER."
- The system will now reboot itself. Wait until it completes this process before continuing.
After the Chromebook reboots
- You will see a "Welcome to your Chromebook" screen. Click the "Get started" button to continue.

- Select a network from the list of wireless networks available.
- Enter the wi-fi network's credentials as instructed and click the "Connect" button.
- Once your Chromebook successfully connects to the wireless network, click the "Next" button to continue if it doesn't automatically proceed to the next step.

NOTE: If you see a screen saying "Choose your Chromebook's setup", press "Ctrl + Alt + E" or click the "Device enrollment" button at the bottom right corner of the screen.
- On the "Device enrollment" screen, enter "enroll@springscs.org" in the "Email or phone" field to enroll the device into the River Springs Google Apps domain. Then click the "Next" button.
- Log into Springs using the following login information. (Do not use your own!)
- Username: enroll

Password: 0987654321
- After you sign in, you can proceed to the next step.
- You will see a screen saying "Enterprise enrollment complete". Click the "Done" button to continue.
- On the "Device enrollment" screen, enter "enroll@springscs.org" in the "Email or phone" field to enroll the device into the River Springs Google Apps domain. Then click the "Next" button.
- Log into your Chromebook with your Springs email.
- Your Chromebook should now be set up.
How you will know the device is set up properly
- In the lower right corner of the screen, click the service tray (with the date/time on it) to open the settings menu.
- Click the "Sign out" button to return to the lock screen.
- In the lower left corner of the screen, click the "Apps" button to open the list menu.
- Open the "SecureTestBrowser" app.
- If you do not see the link to this app, restart the Chromebook and repeat the factory reset process. It could take a few tries before it appears.
- If you see the "Cambium Assessment" app open successfully, then you will know that the device is set up properly.
