Watch the video above, or read the article below to learn how to host a meeting using your Newline board.
You can launch a Google Meeting directly from your Newline board. Please keep in mind this requires you to sign in with your Google account. When doing this, please make sure to type your password when no one is in the room to protect your privacy.
Additionally, when you are done with your meeting, it is required that you sign out of your Google account. If you leave your account signed in, anyone who has physical access to the panel will be able to access your emails and other private or confidential information. Always treat a Newline board as a shared device!
How to run through a Google Meet from start to finish
-
Open your application screen and launch the Google Meet application from your Newline board.
- If you are not already signed in, tap "Sign in".
- Type your full Springs email using the on-screen keyboard and tap "Next" when you are done.
- On the privacy policy terms prompt, tap "Accept".
- You will then be routed to the MySprings login page. Type in your Springs credentials to sign in.
- IMPORTANT NOTE: It is important that you do not ever sign in with others in the room. Typing on the on-screen keyboard will easily expose your password for anyone who can see it. Please give yourself enough time to sign in before the start of a meeting to protect your account information.
- Once you are finished signing in, you will be brought back to the Google Meet starting page. Tap "Continue as [Your Name]" to proceed.
When you are signed in you will see the Google Meet home page. You'll have your scheduled meetings listed, as well as past meetings.
- For a scheduled meeting, tap the meeting you would like to start on your list of scheduled meetings.
- Just like on your computer or phone, it will prompt you to double check your camera input, microphone input, and camera effects window. Confirm these are working before entering the meeting.
- If you ever need to turn on/off your camera or microphone during the meeting, you can toggle them by clicking the "Camera" or "Microphone" buttons at the bottom of the screen.

- To access the content you wish to share, you may tap the Newline buttons at the bottom of the screen or on the front panel to navigate to it. It is recommended to have the application open ahead of time and quickly use the app switcher to view your content. You are still sharing your screen even if you've navigated to another app.
- If you tap the annotate button on the left-hand side of the screen, you can use your stylus or finger to make marks that will be displayed to the meeting.

Signing out
To reiterate, it is very important that you sign out of your Google account when you are done using your Newline board in order to defend your privacy!
To sign out when you are finished:
-
Tap your profile picture on the Google Meet starting page. This will open your account information.
- On this window, tap the down arrow next to "Switch account".
- On the submenu that appears, tap "Manage accounts on this device".
- Under the "Accounts for owners" section, tap your name.
- Select "Remove account" at the bottom of the screen.
- Tap "Remove account" on the confirmation window.
This will clear your data from all apps and protect your data and account. Unfortunately at this time there is not an easier way to do this process.
