If you have multiple monitors, there are various ways you can use them to make a presentation or work on a project.
The prerequisite for this tutorial is that you have at least one other display screen or projector screen connected to your computer. To get started, open up the display settings of your computer, and then you can mirror or extend your screen as needed.
To get started, open your Settings and go to the "Device > Displays" page, or use the search bar to search and go directly to the "Displays" settings.
Now that the settings are open, you can do any of the following.
Mirroring your screen
You can mirror your screen to another display monitor so that the content shown on both displays are the same. Cursor movement, applications, etc. are all the same on this mirrored screen, so others can see exactly what you're doing if you project the second screen.
How to mirror your screen
When you're in the display settings, check the "Mirror Built-in display" option.
This option will always mirror the "Built-in display" because it will combine the content of both screens into one if you had been using it as an extended desktop before. Once the screen is mirrored, the settings window will look like this:
Extending your screen
When you extend your screen to another display monitor, you are expanding your workspace. Content can be moved between screens, but each application is unique. This can be helpful if you need to project a slide presentation on one screen and have lecture notes open on another, or if you need to see applications side-by-side in order to multitask. Your screen can be extended to multiple displays too, so you are not limited to just two screens to work with.
How to extend your screen
When you're in the display settings, click on one of the other display screens other than the "Built-In display" one. There you will see a dropdown menu for an option called "Screen". Select the "Extended display" option.
In the "Arrangement" box, use the arrow keys to change the order of the screens, or drag each display to re-order them into your desired configuration. There will be a blue line along the edges of the display that will denote where your cursor can cross to move between screens.
Changing which screen is your main display
To change which screen is your main display screen, click on the display you want to be your primary screen. If it is not already the main display, there will be an option called "Screen". In the dropdown menu for this option, select the "Primary display" option.
