Portfolio Sample Assignment Directions for Students/Parents and Homeschool Parents
These are instructions on how to upload portfolio samples. Students and anyone attached to the student (parent, teacher, etc.) can upload and view the student's samples.
IMPORTANT: This is the only area where samples can be collected. The sample can exist in multiple courses/places, but this is where it must be uploaded to count as a sample.
- Navigate to my.springscs.org and log in using your parent's or student's MySprings account.
- On the navigation menu at the left of the page, go to the "Students" page.
- On the tab menu at the top of the page, click on the "Portfolios" page.
- Look for the student that you would like to upload samples for (optional).
- Click the down caret on the right side of the page to open the student's portfolio. There will be red, yellow, or green text that indicates how many samples are required, ungraded, or completed.
- The portfolio should automatically open to the most recent semester. You will see the list of courses that samples need to be uploaded for.
- Click the blue "+" plus sign button in the top right corner of the course you want to upload a sample for. Courses that do not have samples uploaded yet will have a red flag on them.
- Choose a date to upload the sample to (only actual school days will be available, holidays/etc. will not be selectable).
-
OPTIONAL: Add a note if needed for clarification.
- Click an option: "Upload File" or "Use Webcam".
- You can upload a file using your device or find a document on Google Drive, OR use the "Use Webcam" option from your computer.
- NOTE: When taking a photo, it must be of a completed assignment (report, worksheet, etc.). If you submit a photo of a project/activity, it must be on the Portfolio Photo Form.
- You can upload a file using your device or find a document on Google Drive, OR use the "Use Webcam" option from your computer.
- After the file upload is complete, click the blue "Upload" button.
-
NOTE: If there is any missing information, you will see a warning instead of the successfully uploaded sample.
- Choose a date to upload the sample to (only actual school days will be available, holidays/etc. will not be selectable).
- If the sample is multiple pages, it can be formatted to be a single file for upload, or choose multiple files by clicking the blue "+" plus sign button in the top right of the course column to add additional pages.
- Please let your ES/HCT/Teacher of Record know when you have completed the uploads for your student(s) and they will check the assignments for accuracy, then complete the process once everything is all clear.
- If the portfolio sample cannot be accepted, the student or the parent will get an email stating that the assignment was denied. A link will be provided in the email to take you to MySprings so another sample can be uploaded.
